To continue the market series at the Eagle River market. The market is much smaller in comparison to other Anchorage markets, but still welcoming to new customers.

Eagle River’s small and welcoming farmers market  is open on Tuesdays from 3 to 7 p.m.

It has about 15 vendors and is located in the parking lot of the VFW Post building off Eagle River Road and has a great deal of parking available.

One vendor is a local artist who creates wood carvings of animals like wolves and moose.

The Alaska Honeybee Sanctuary was in attendance selling honey and spreading information about their efforts to conserve declining honeybee environments.

Outside of the food vendors most were selling handcrafted products.

K. Paulson Illustrations was at the market selling their products such as drawings, posters and stickers. They are also located at a few markets in Anchorage like the South Anchorage market.

Other vendors had products such as handmade quilted items, dog treats, tie dye clothes, handmade jewelry, and wood art.

One vendor is a local artist who creates wood carvings of animals like wolves and moose.

Quilted items were varied  and included quilts, shirts, dresses and hot pads.

A consumer could tell the products were homemade, durable and long-lasting.

Dog treats were for sale at the Alaska Adventure Pets booth – a local business run by a mother-daughter duo. They also sell cat treats and collars

A person could buy an item from most vendors and spend less than $100.

Item pricing was  reasonable even though they were local and handmade. Someone could spend less than $100 at most vendors.

Vendors were welcoming even in the rainy weather.

This farmers market is pet-friendly and can be done in the span of 15 minutes. All things considered, it is not worth the drive for someone who does not live in Eagle River. The vendors present are very similar to vendors in significantly closer  markets throughout Anchorage.
