USUAA hosted its annual Fall Feast in the Gorsuch Commons on Tuesday.
The event was open to students, faculty and the Anchorage community. Donations were accepted, with proceeds going to UAA’s Food Insecurity Fund. The meal was free for all who attended.
The menu featured a wide spread of traditional Thanksgiving dishes that included turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing, as well as vegan and vegetarian options.
The event used to be hosted on Thanksgiving Day before the COVID-19 pandemic but has since been moved to Tuesday to ensure any students who attend do not miss Thanksgiving Dinner with family.
Security was added to both entrances to aid with the large turnout at the event. USUAA advisor and Student Life and Leadership associate director Zac Clark said, "seeing this event for ten plus years, it has never been this packed."
Clark spoke on the nature of the celebration and said, "it's the season of giving. It's the opportunity to give back to the students who maybe can't go home to be with their family."
