No intro this week, I'm mad that the Chiefs didn't pick up a second loss.
0. The Kansas City Chiefs
Of course the Chiefs were able to escape with a win in a game they should have lost. In their game against the lowly Panthers, the Chiefs made them look like a competent team, which should result in an immediate expulsion from the league, and I'm outraged that the Chiefs still only have one loss on the season. This column will continue to feature the Kansas City Chiefs at rank 0 since the NFL appears to currently be rigged for the Chiefs to win it all. I will continue to refuse to have them take up a spot on the list of best teams in the league until they — by some miracle — don’t win a Super Bowl.
8. The Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings are back on the list, and I still don't know what to make of them. After barely eking out a win against the Jaguars, they went on to win a shootout against the Bears in overtime. That said, it shouldn't have gone to overtime as the Vikings had managed a lead for most of the game. While I'm cautiously optimistic that the Vikings might be a good football team again, I'm putting them at eight until they start playing like a 9-2 football team.
7. The Pittsburgh Steelers
As I said last week, Steelers games are some of the most methodical and agonizing to watch. I also said it felt like they were never in control of games, and that was on full display in their matchup in the snow against the Browns. Despite overcoming the 18-point deficit they put themselves in, they still lost a game that shouldn't have been close. If this team can cut down on the mistakes and mix in an explosive play here and there, I think they have a solid chance at playing football into January. With where it stands now though, they look like a team that will wash out in the first round of the playoffs.
6. The Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers lost a very close game to the Ravens on Monday Night Football. They made a few small mistakes that ultimately became insurmountable after their star running back, J.K. Dobbins, sustained a knee injury. How close they were able to keep the game despite that gives me confidence that this team will be a force to be reckoned with down the stretch. They have what should be a very manageable game against the Falcons this week, and a win will keep them in playoff contention as the race for spots continues to narrow.
5. The Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore needed this win against the Chargers. Coming off their loss against the Steelers, this team looked like they were about to go on a late season slide. However, after a dominant win against the Chargers, the Ravens look like they're back in business. They have a major test ahead of them in attempting to slow down the Saquon Barkley-led Eagles, but if they can come out with a win they have a good chance at wrestling the top spot in their division back from the Steelers.
4. The Green Bay Packers
Jordan Love looks like he's doing his best imitation of himself last season. After a two-touchdown — and zero-interception — performance against the rival 49ers, this game marks the first game all season that Jordan Love didn't turn the ball over. The Packers are going into an incredibly winnable game versus the Dolphins in Lambeau, and are looking like they're returning to their dominant form. Especially if they can notch wins in back-to-back weeks without turning the ball over.
3. The Philadelphia Eagles
This Eagles team looks like it's never going to slow down. Facing a red-hot Rams team looking to make a push for the playoffs, Saquon Barkley went off for 302 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, averaging nearly 10 yards per carry when running the ball. That, coupled with their stifling defense and Jalen Hurts managing the ball well, has led to seven straight wins as they head into their matchup against the Ravens. And if they can extend the streak to eight wins, they look to run away with the division heading into the final stretch of the season.
2. The Detroit Lions
The Lions played a dominant game against the Colts, despite a key injury sustained by Amon-Ra St. Brown. They didn't turn the ball over, they managed a healthy lead over the Colts and didn't allow any touchdowns. That, combined with continued dominance on special teams, has led to the Lions achieving their best record through 11 games since 1934, at 10-1. Headed into a Thanksgiving match at home against a Bears team hungry for a win, the Lions will need to continue playing solid on offense, defense and special teams if they want to extend their win streak to ten.
1. The Buffalo Bills
The Bills had a bye-week this week, which was well-deserved after their dominant victory over the Chiefs. They look to continue their dominance over the league as they host the 49ers during the middle of a snowstorm. Since no team has played better football than the Bills — or beat the Chiefs — they are still the most dominant team in the league.
