UAA partnered with Skinny Raven for the UAA Spirit Run: Run Against Hunger on Sept. 28, to hold its annual 5K community event to raise money for food insecurity. The event raised $2,914 to support funds for the food pantry located on campus.

According to Seawolf Dining, there were a total of 110 registered runners that participated in the run. UAA Student Health and Counseling Center provided drinks and snacks for after the race. UAA radio station KRUA 88.1 FM provided music for the event.

Seawolf food pantry website reports that it provides resources to nearly 45% of students. Any student looking for a three-day supply of shelf-stable food can email uaa_seawolfpantry@alaska.edu. If you are interested in donating, you can also email the Seawolf pantry.
